BATTLE OF TEWKESBURY RE-ENACTMENT
HEALTH & SAFETY RULES

IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH PARTICIPANT TO ENSURE SO FAR AS IS REASONABLY PRACTICABLE THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE OF THEMSELVES, FELLOW PARTICIPANTS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC THROUGHOUT THE EVENT.
ALL PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BE AWARE THERE IS A RISK OF BODILY INJURY INVOLVED IN RE-ENACTMENT AND BY ENTERING THE BATTLEFIELD THEY ACCEPT THIS RISK

Participation
All re-enactors taking part must be part of a group invited by the Organisers of the event and have completed a registration form and provided details of their Public Liability Insurance for £5million.
Each group will nominate a captain who will take overall responsibility for their group on the field and must attend the commanders’ meeting on each day.
Captains are expected to attend the commanders’ meeting each morning and to disseminate any notices or instructions issued there.
Captains are responsible for making sure that the members of their group are equipped with the standard safety equipment for the Combat Field.
Captains are responsible for making sure that all members entering the Combat Field adhere to all the necessary Safety Rules and are well practised, safe and adequately competent to be on the battlefield.
Captains should ensure that all their combatants and non-combatants read and understand these safety rules.
Individuals must not participate in the event whilst under the influence of alcohol or any other substance that will affect their safe judgement.
Persons with relevant medical conditions shall notify the organisers prior to taking part.
All participants must ensure that they comply fully with all verbal or written instruction given by the event organisers or their representatives.

Protection
All participants on the field, including non-combatants, shall wear a metal helmet as head protection at all times.
All participants who take part in armed mock combat shall wear leather or steel gauntlets and a padded jack. They are advised to wear adequate protective clothing and are fully responsible for their own safety.  Protective clothing should be worn sufficient to minimise the effect of deflections or accidental blows.
All armour must be well maintained and free from burrs or sharp edges.  It should be constructed and maintained to offer minimum risk to the user and other parties.
Non-combatants on the field may wear a sash available from the event organisers.  On no account should such non-combatants be engaged in mock combat.  Any person new to Tewkesbury or mock combat should wear a white sash so that other combatants are aware of their lack of experience.

Weapons
Individual participants are responsible for the condition of any weapons used in mock combat or for display during the event.  The weapons must be in good condition, fit for purpose and free from burrs or cracks.  
Weapons for use in mock combat shall conform to the following dimension:
Swords and daggers shall have a minimum radius at the point of 9mm (5p piece)
Pole arms shall have a minimum radius at the point of 10mm (1p piece)
No weapon shall be less than 2mm thick at the tip or edge.
No edged or pointed weapon shall be used or carried in mock combat.
No mallet whose length exceeds 24inches, nor any flail weapon shall be used in the battle unless with the express permission of the organisers.
The organisers reserve the right to carry out random weapons checks and to ban any weapon or equipment which they consider represents a hazard.
For any thrusts, regardless of the weapon used or armour of your opponent, the target area is between the knees and the bottom of the sternum (breastbone).  Only hit armour or padding.
Swordsmen may hit use slashing blows above the ankle to below the neck only against opponents who are armoured or padded, and must be aware at all times of other participants around them to avoid hitting others on the backswing. If room is limited (i.e. within a bill press) they should limit their blows within the knee to sternum area.

All blows shall be applied with the minimum force with the safety of the adversary foremost,
Do not stab or cut at fallen opponents.
No weapon shall be thrown unless pre-arranged.
On no account shall untrained or unauthorised persons touch any gun or siege engine.
No blows to the head.

Pole Arms (This includes Bills, Spears and Poleaxes)
Hold the haft of the weapon with both hands..
Do not slide the haft of the weapon through the leading hand.
Hooking the opponents’ limbs and clothing is forbidden as it can easily pull people onto other equipment.

Archery
It is the responsibility of all participating archers and crossbowmen to ensure that only blunt arrows and bolts are used.  All projectiles should be checked for safety before use.
Arrows and bolts will be loosed on the commands of the captains of archers and crossbowmen.
No arrow or bolt shall be loosed below an angle of forty five degrees to the horizontal.
The position of the archers in relation to the target area shall be such as to ensure that arrows do not fall outside the designated target area.  Should the angle of flight become critical to the safety of any participant or member of the public then the archers taking part in that particular loose must alter the direction or angle of flight such that there is no longer a hazard.

Gunnery
No person using powder/explosives or artillery pieces may do so without the express permission of the Master Gunner.
It is the responsibility of participants using powder/explosives or artillery pieces to ensure that they hold a valid licence for the use of these substances and/or equipment and shall produce such licence on request.
All artillery pieces must be positioned so as to minimise any risk to participants or members of the public.  The person responsible for each piece will ensure that those participants using that piece are instructed in its correct use, and are aware of all safety procedures.

Age Restrictions
No person under 17 will be allowed on the Battlefield.

First Aid
The organisers will ensure that first aid facilities are available relevant to the needs of the numbers participating.
In the event of first aid being required by a participant, they should be assisted to the boundary rope and from there to the first aid point.  Should it be felt that they should not be moved then the marshal must be informed immediately and appropriate action taken.

Fire
Participants must ensure that they do not do anything that which may create the possibility of the outbreak of fire.  In the event of fire:
A Raise the alarm
B Clear the immediate area
C Arrange for the Fire Brigade to be called
D If appropriate tackle the fire.  If not await the arrival of the Fire Brigade.  Do not put yourself at risk.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ORGANISERS OF TEWKESBURY MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL AND THEIR APPOINTED REPRESENTATIVES WILL HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO MAKE ANY FINAL DECISIONS ON THE ENFORCEMENT OF ALL MATTERS COVERED BY THIS DOCUMENT AND OTHER MATTERS AT THEIR DISCRETION.

C'est à très peu de choses près ce qui a été mis en place dans le Grand Sud... Finalement, ce ne sont que des règles de bon sens qui semblent s'imposer un peu partout...

Personne n'a pensé  à mettre la traduction en français, mon anglais scolaire ne me permet pas de tout comprendre. Je m'étonne qu'aucun combattant ne l'ai demandé, sont tous bilingues sur ce forum, chapeau !

TOUS LES PARTICIPANTS DEVRAIENT SE RENDRE COMPTE QU'IL Y AIT UN RISQUE DE DOMMAGES CORPORELS IMPLIQUÉ DANS LE RÉTABLISSEMENT ET EN ENTRANT DANS LE CHAMP DE BATAILLE ILS ACCEPTENT CE RISQUE.

Participation La participation tout reconstitueur doit faire partie d'un groupe invité par les organisateurs de l'événement et avoir renseigné une fiche et si des détails de leur assurance de responsabilité publique pour £5million. Chaque groupe nommera un capitaine qui prendra la responsabilité globale de leur groupe sur le champ et doit assister à la réunion des commandants chaque jour.
On s'attend à ce que des capitaines assistent à la réunion des commandants chaque matin et disséminer toutes les notices ou instructions. Les capitaines sont responsables de veiller que les membres de leur groupe sont équipés de l'équipement de sûreté standard pour le champ de combat.
Les capitaines sont responsables de veiller que tous les membres entrant dans le champ de combat adhèrent à toutes les règles nécessaires de sûreté et sont bien pratiqués, de la sécurité et en juste proportion compétent pour être sur le champ de bataille. Les capitaines devraient s'assurer que tous leurs combattants et non-combattants lisent et comprennent ces règles de sécurité. Les individus ne doivent pas participer ous l'influence de l'alcool ou d'aucune autre substance qui affectera leur jugement sûr. Les personnes avec des conditions médicales appropriées informeront les organisateurs avant de participer. Tous les participants doivent s'assurer qu'ils se conforment entièrement à toute l'instruction verbale ou écrite donnée par les organisateurs d'événement ou leurs représentants.
Protection Tous les participants sur le champ, y compris des non-combattants, porteront un casque en métal en tant que protection principale à tout moment.
Tous les participants qui participent au faux combat armé porteront des gantelets en cuir ou en acier et un cric capitonné. Ils sont conseillés de porter à vêtements de protection proportionnés et sont entièrement responsables de leur propre sûreté. Les vêtements de protection devraient être suffisants porté pour réduire au minimum l'effet des débattements ou des coups accidentels. Toute l'armure doit être bien maintenue et libérée des bavures ou des bords pointus. Elle devrait être faite et maintenue pour offrir le risque minimum à l'utilisateur et à d'autres parties.
Les non-combattants sur le champ peuvent porter une ceinture fournie par les organisateurs d'événement. Dans aucun cas si de tels non-combattants sont engagés dans le faux combat.
Toute personne nouvelle à Tewkesbury ou à faux combat devrait porter une ceinture blanche de sorte que d'autres combattants se rendent compte de leur manque d'expérience.
Armes, Les différents participants sont responsables de l'état de toutes les armes utilisées dans le faux combat ou la représentation pendant l'événement.
Les armes doivent être en bon état, ajustement pour le but et libérer des bavures ou des fissures. Les armes pour l'usage dans le faux combat se conformeront à la dimension suivante :
Les épées et les poignards auront un pointe avec un rayon minimum  où 9mm (morceau 5p)
Les bras de Polonais auront un rayon minimum au moment où 10mm (morceau 1p)
Aucune arme ne sera moins de 2mm profondément au bout ou au bord.
Aucune arme bordée ou aiguë ne sera utilisée dans un faux combat.
Aucun maillet dont la longueur dépasse 24inches, ni n'importe quelle arme de fléau ne sera utilisé dans la bataille à moins d'une permission exprès des organisateurs.
Les organisateurs se réservent le droit d'effectuer les contrôles aléatoires d'armes et interdire n'importe quelle arme ou équipement qu'ils considèrent représentant un risque.

Pour toutes les poussées, indépendamment de l'arme utilisée ou d'armure de votre adversaire, la zone cible est entre les genoux et le fond du sternum (sternum). Seulement armure ou remplissage de coup. Les épéistes peuvent frapper en réduisant les coups au-dessus de la cheville à au-dessous du cou seulement contre les adversaires qui sont blindés ou capitonnés, et doivent se rendre compte à tout moment d'autres participants autour de eux pour éviter de frapper d'autres sur la prise d'élan.
Si la pièce est limitée (c.-à-d. au sein d'une presse de facture) ils devraient limiter leurs coups du genou au secteur de sternum.

Tous les coups seront appliqués avec la force minimum avec la sûreté de l'adversaire premier, Ne poignardez pas ou ne coupez pas aux adversaires tombés. Aucune arme ne sera jetée à moins que le cas soit prévu ou pré-arrangé.
En aucun, les personnes non autorisées touchent n'importe quel pistolet ou moteur de siège.
Aucuns coups à la tête. Bras de Polonais (ceci inclut des haches, masses, les lances et Poleaxes) Tenez le manche de l'arme avec les deux mains. Ne glissez pas le manche de l'arme par la principale main.
On interdit l'accrochage des membres des adversaires et l'habillement pendant qu'il peut facilement tirer des personnes sur l'autre équipement.

Tir à l'arc Il est de la responsabilité de tous les archers et arbalétriers participants de s'assurer que seulement des flèches et les traits émoussés sont utilisés. Toutes les projectiles devraient être examinées pour assurer la sûreté avant emploi. Des flèches et les embouts seront desserrés sur les commandes des capitaines des archers et des arbalétriers. Aucune flèche ou trait ne sera décoché au-dessous d'un angle de quarante-cinq degrés avec l'horizontal. La position des archers par rapport à la zone cible sera comme de s'assurer que les flèches ne tombent pas extérieur la zone cible indiquée. Si l'angle du vol devient critique à la sûreté de n'importe quel participant ou membre du public, alors les archers participant devront nécessessairement changer la direction ou l'angle du vol tels qu'il n'y a plus un risque.
Artillerie Aucune personne employant la poudre/explosifs ou les pièces d'artillerie peut ne pas faire ainsi sans permission exprès du canonnier principal. Il est de la responsabilité des participants employant la poudre/explosifs ou les pièces d'artillerie pour s'assurer qu'ils détiennent une licence valide pour l'usage de ces substances et/ou d'équipement et produiront un tel permis sur demande. Toutes les pièces d'artillerie doivent être placées afin de réduire au minimum n'importe quel risque aux participants ou aux membres du public. La personne chargée de chaque pièce s'assurera que ces participants employant cette pièce sont instruits dans son utilisation correcte, et se rendent compte de toutes les procédures de sûreté.

Restrictions d'âge On ne permettra aucune personne au-dessous de 17 sur le champ de bataille. Premiers soins, Les organisateurs s'assureront que les équipements des premiers soins sont appropriés et disponibles aux besoins de la participation suivant le nombre. En cas des premiers soins donné par un participant, ils devront être donné au bord de la lisse et de là au point des premiers poste de secours. Si on l'estime qu'ils ne devraient pas être déplacés alors le maréchal doit être informé immédiatement et une mesure appropriée sera prise.

Le feu, Les participants doivent s'assurer qu'ils ne font rien de cela qui peut créer la possibilité d'un feu non maitrisé.

En cas du feu :
A donner l'alarme
B dégager le secteur immédiatement
C prévenir les sapeurs-pompiers
D s'il est possible, combattez le feu.
Sinon attendez l'arrivée des sapeurs-pompiers. Ne vous mettez pas en danger.
